Republican Hypocrisy on IVF

A majority of House Republicans have cosponsored legislation that would end IVF as we know it. We must hold them accountable and remind voters of all that's at stake this November. Tell us you're all in to do the work to win and then, take action below.

In a move that sent shockwaves through the nation, the state of Alabama recently declared frozen embryos to be equivalent to living children, setting a precedent that imperils reproductive technologies like in vitro fertilization (IVF). The move by Alabama's Republican court has already resulted in nearly all of the state's clinics halting the procedure. This state-level action depends on the same argument as the federal Life at Conception Act, a bill introduced by Republican Representatives to define human life as beginning at fertilization. Such a definition would place IVF, a lifeline for countless people wishing to conceive, in jeopardy across the country. It's just the latest attack in a long line of MAGA attacks on our reproductive rights and our freedom to make decisions about our bodies and families.

As the November election approaches, it's crucial that we don't let Republicans off the hook. We must ensure that our friends and neighbors understand the continued threats to our reproductive rights and the broader implications of these efforts on things like IVF. Whether you have a Representative who has cosponsored the Life at Conception Act or not (check further down this page!), there are ways to take action right now:

If you have a Republican who supports the Life at Conception Act, it's critical that you let your neighbors know about their dangerous vision for America and exactly what's at stake this November. A letter to the editor in your local newspaper can be a great tool to do just that.

If we can raise the money for it, we’re going to put up digital billboards in their districts -- starting with Reps. Schweikert and Garcia -- making these members famous for their support for extreme and deeply unpopular anti-IVF policies. Chip in today to help us make these MAGA Republicans pay a huge political price for their attacks on IVF services. Together, we'll expose these extremists, defeat them in November, and elect leaders who'll protect reproductive freedom across the country.
