2022 Final Legislative Session
Call your Republican Representative and Demand the House Stay in Session
Republicans paid a price for their radical agenda in the midterms. Democrats beat the odds and outperformed expectations in a historic way, but Republicans did narrowly take control of the House of Representatives, which means we must urge members of Congress (MoCs) to stay in session and keep working. Congress has from now until January 3, 2023 (Swearing-In Day) to deliver on a long list of priorities.
Republicans are feeling some pressure after their poor performance in the midterms, so now is the time to keep the pressure on them. We are asking MoCs to stay in session and pass as many popular bills as possible.
Republicans say they support bills like the Marriage Equality Act, and reforms to the Electoral Count Act. After their extremist views cost them the Senate and potentially the House, we want them to pass these popular bills while Democrats still control the legislative agenda. While Republicans are expected to vote yes on these bills if they come for a vote, we know Republicans would never bring these popular bills for a vote if they are in power. That is why we need to move now!
